The Pitti Palace and the Boboli gardens
We will visit the latest and most magnificent residence of the Medici, the Pitti Palace and its wonderful garden on the hill: Boboli Garden.
The Palatine Gallery offers an extraordinary series of frescoed halls and glittering golden stucco walls fully decorated with paintings of famous Italian and foreign artists of the Renaissance and the Baroque periods. You can see here wonderful decorative tables inlaid with semiprecious stones, Chinese porcelain vases and Murano glass chandeliers.
Among the most important paintings of the gallery are eleven paintings by Raphael and a number by Titian, Rubens, Caravaggio, sixteenth century Florentine school pieces, and also seventeenth-century Flemish works. Finally you can take a stroll through the Boboli Gardens, among the ponds, ancient statues, flower beds and caves, once a place of enjoyment and entertainment for the Grand Dukes and their distinguished guests.
